Came dead last in Darwyn Cooke's Draw Parker contest. Yeah! Perhaps sloppy inks on graph paper was a bit of an affront? Can't argue with that prize though. Very generous indeed.
UPDATE: Mr Cooke has taken to his not-blog to spin some words about his favourite entries. In each description, Cooke expounds on his preference for a sense of context, or dynamism: two factors sorely lacking in my comp. Where's the suit? Where's the gun? Where's any sense that this is Parker, except in the grim tight-face I gave him?

Jaysis, there was definitely worse entered than yours.
Oh well, ten minutes scribbling for a maybe-signed art book is nice work! Big congrats to WJC too. His was a treat.
Sorry to hear that, just having a scan though there were 2 I thought were as interesting and could possibly be considered better than yours. The rest was in a style one has seen a million times before.
Haha, maybe it was the graph paper though!
Still a cool prize!
well done! I would be over the moon with that lol! Am blaming the graph paper! Yours was so much better than some of the others!
btw Reds.. is there a need for all this security (word verification) every time I post a comment on your blog? I took it off mine.. makes it easier.
Ah, aren't yous nice! I was happy with mine, I was reading a bit of Goseki Kojima and Hiroshi Hirata manga and though it'd be wicked to do a heavy caligraphy line Parker. That said, mine didn't have anywhere near the polish of the majority. He might have thought I was taking the piss. I didn't do any cleaning of the image, you could see all the blots in the ink. I should learn you to colour and that frankly. But yeah, awesome prize!
Mal: Yeah, I got spammed a bit early on with ads in the comments, activating that verification seemed to stop it. I'm not very fond of it either, it's hassle. I have to fill in loads of facebook, because I've been marked as a spammer! Heh. I don't know, you send some people similar links, and POW you're inter-scum! I'll turn it off for a bit and see what happens.
ah right.. weird. I hope I don't get any of that!
Heh, I just read 'polish' as 'Polish', and thought, "it looked pretty effin Polish to me". I am worthy of Daily Mirror art criticism. Job wanted.
